ATTENTION BERLIN CHARTER TOWNSHIP RESIDENTS:

We are pleased to announce that our recycling program is back open! My sincere apologies for the amount of time it has taken to re-open our recycling program. With that being said, we now have an exceptional new contract with Republic Services for the next three years.

The bins are here at the Town Offices and will fill up fast due to how long the program has been suspended. We now have five eight-yard dumpsters instead of one forty-yard dumpster. Containers will be emptied on Tuesdays and Fridays. Please do not leave recyclables next to or outside the dumpster, as this creates
a lot of work for our Township Employees.

As a reminder, plastic garbage bags full of recycling must be emptied and not placed in the container. Also, all boxes are to be broken down to save space.

Welcome to Berlin Charter Township.

Formerly part of Ash Township, Berlin Charter Township became an independent Township in 1867. Its borders include Frenchtown Township on the south and Ash Township on the west. The Huron River forms most of the Township’s northern boundary along with Brownstown Township and the cities of Rockwood and Flat Rock.
As part of the Monroe Metropolitan Area, the township is also within the much larger Metro Detroit region.
