Welcome to Berlin Charter Township.

Formerly part of Ash Township, Berlin Charter Township became an independent Township in 1867. Its borders include Frenchtown Township on the south and Ash Township on the west. The Huron River forms most of the Township’s northern boundary along with Brownstown Township and the cities of Rockwood and Flat Rock.

As part of the Monroe Metropolitan Area, the township is also within the much larger Metro Detroit region.

Beautification Awards

Berlin Charter Township is accepting nominations for Beautification Awards in the following categories: Business, Farm, Manufactured Home, Residence, and Rural Residence.

Nominations will be accepted until August 30, 2024, and can be turned in at the Berlin Charter Township Office or emailed to Supervisor Dave Reaume (dave@berlintwp.net) or Clerk Denise Sovey-Meyer (denise@berlintwp.net).

Winners will be announced in mid-September and honored at the Berlin Charter Township meeting on September 23, 2024, at 5:00 pm.
